Tom Devine was appointed General Manager ASSA ABLOY Australia in October 2007, having joined the ASSA ABLOY Group In 1998.
As General Manager, ASSA ABLOY Australia, Tom Devine’s focus is to build on ASSA ABLOY’s reputation as a manufacturer of quality door and window security hardware, increasing ‘customer relevance’ and becoming an employer of choice.
Under his leadership, research and development and strengthening ASSA ABLOY’s edge in driving innovative product advancements are paramount.
Tom Devine’s strategic acumen and experience in the security hardware industry is widely recognised within the ASSA ABLOY Group. An integral member of the Asia Pacific Executive Team, his charter is to position the company as a best practice organisation within the Asia Pacific region.
Tom’s commitment and vision to position ASSA ABLOY Australia as a leader in the areas of manufacturing, product development, sales and marketing is consistent with his past achievements within ASSA ABLOY globally.
In 2001 a period with ASSA ABLOY company Security Products UK as Product Manager identified Tom’s considerable skill in exploring new channels and bringing new products to market.
Returning to Australia in 2003 as General Manager Sales and Marketing Commercial, Lockwood Security Products, Tom repositioned the Lockwood brand through innovative and strategic marketing, and collaborative partnerships. The highly successful strategic partnership with Royal Australian Institute of Architects, and the nationally recognised Design for Lockwood Competition is one example. A thought leader, Tom has achieved great success with the significant and successful integration of a national sales structure with a total product offering.
Tom played a leading role in facilitating the redevelopment of the Melbourne site and the subsequent launch of the new ASSA ABLOY Centre of Excellence in 2006. In 2007 he assumed the role of General Manager ASSA ABLOY Australia, incorporating the Lockwood, Whitco, and ABLOY brands locally.
Tom Devine is past President of the Architectural Hardware and Industry Association, a member of the CEO Forum and has more than 17 years in the security hardware industry.
